Is Vancouver an economically stable place to relocate to from Ontario?

I am a new health care graduate from Ontario thinking of relocating myself to Vancouver. My main draw is the beautiful climate and surroundings.

I would like to know what people think of the current economy/job market state and future of the city.
I have been told that it's a great place and I have also been warned that post-olympics the economy will crumble more because the city will have to pay off the Olympic debts.

I see that there are MANY residential properties for sale and it makes me wonder if people are generally 'fleeing' or leaving Vancouver. I have seen a few job postings in my field, more than in Ontario.

Is it possible to make ends meet in Vancouver – ie. own a condo/home and car and maintain some savings, on lets say a predicted salary of $65-75K for a new grad. I have some student loans and no major savings to put down on a place at the moment.
